  • "I think the most important thing is to figure out, early on, who you really are as a person and a photographer and don't stray from it. Be very definite and clear about the kind of pictures you are looking to make and be consistent with it. Do it to your best of your ability and keep shooting! Follow me on my blog as I keep on shooting. Live, Love, Laugh and Shoot Often" -Sara Zarrella

Sara Zarrella & Steve Sheally August 31st, 2014-Gerald’s Farm, Exeter, RI

Sara and Steve-Gerald’s Farm

Sara and Steve had a beautiful late summer wedding last year on August 31st, 2014 at her family’s property, Gerald’s Farm in Exeter, RI.  Sara utilized her eye for creativity and the couple’s elaborate touch could be seen in every detail.  A Mediterranean Rustic-Chic feel was the backdrop for a beautiful intimate weekend for their friends and family. In lieu of centerpieces, each of the 90 guests was given homemade herb-infused olive oil, The cuisine was coastal Tuscan fare. In Sara’s Own Words:

This blog entry is long overdue as I have sat down many times to write about my wedding day and I have to tell you it’s tough. It is hard to put to words a day that was and is summed up in one word “magical”.  Every weekend I go out and photograph my couples weddings and have been doing so for the last 13 years.  I watch you all say “I Do” and each time I see how beautiful and special love is in that moment of one promise that a husband and wife share.  Watching friends and families come together sometimes for the first time to celebrate the unity.  A wedding is not just “a wedding” it is a day that two families come together and the couple has everyone that they love in one place.  That was how it was for Steve and I, because Steve is from Florida and I have many friends and relatives that are out of state. Our wedding was the first time we had everyone together in one spot.

I’m already guilty of wanting to turn back time to experience that day all over again. It’s bittersweet because you know you can’t, and that is what makes your wedding day one of the best days of your life. Everyone tells you that your wedding day flies by, so cherish it and experience every minute of it. It may feel like a whirlwind, but it is just one of those perfect days you want to visit again and again. That is the power of photography, and why being a wedding photographer is so special. I have seen so many couples walk down that aisle with the ones they choose to call their partner in life’s great adventures, and I thought I knew everything about weddings and about that day you spend with loved ones. I have now experienced it for myself and it IS everything it’s chalked up to be. It IS magical and euphoric. I hope that every one of my past and future couples will remember their wedding day with tenderness and a fondness like Steve and I do.

and now on to what you’ve been waiting for, the photographs!

Working in this industry for over a decade, I have seen and worked with many vendors and I chose very carefully about which ones would suit my wedding day and the feeling I was going for. I wish I could have used them all!

The Importance of Updating Your Headshot

The Importance of Updating Your Headshot

Headshots are not limited to models, actors and performance artists. At some point in life most people need a professional head shot.

Real estate agents, legal professionals and mortgage brokers are just a few of the people that come to us for their professional portrait needs. We take pride in helping you put your best look forward with our executive portraiture for the business professional.

How do you want to represent yourself?

Glamorous or Reliable?

Out with the old in with the new

Let Sara Zarrella Photography take your portrait so you can look as good as our client on the right.

As you can see, it’s very important to update your headshot every couple years. You may still have your 80’s glamour shot lying around, but it’s not an accurate depiction of yourself now, and it doesn’t show your true potential as a good professional.

All portraits are professionally retouched and can be used for online printing or reproduction.  Each client receives the selected finished images by email or CD. Group rates are available both in the Sara Zarrella Photography Portrait Studio or on location at your own office/firm.

Celebrating a big birthday with big laughs for Sara’s father, Jerry! -Gerald’s Farm, Exeter, RI

Gerald’s Farm, Exeter, RI

On April 11th, we celebrated Jerry Zarrella’s big birthday in style at Gerald’s Farm in Exeter, Rhode Island. Friends and family came out to tell stories and raise a glass for Jerry. It was a western theme with a pig roast from Russell Morin Catering, and the night went out with a comedic roast of the big guy himself. We had a live painter, Vesna Longton, document the night, and we had the Sara Zarrella Photography Photo Booth  popped up for all the guests. Did you see the huge custom western jail backdrop for the Photo Booth?! The night ended with music from local band RipCord and the O’Crepe food truck for late night snacks.
