  • "I think the most important thing is to figure out, early on, who you really are as a person and a photographer and don't stray from it. Be very definite and clear about the kind of pictures you are looking to make and be consistent with it. Do it to your best of your ability and keep shooting! Meet Daniel Jr.

Meet Daniel Jr. whose proud parents Krista and Daniel gave us at The Sara Zarrella Photography Portrait Studio the honor to photograph little Jr.  Krista and Daniel tied the knot on July 16, 2010 at the Hyatt Hotel in Newport, Rhode Island and we were there to capture it all.  For a look back at their wedding check out the blog post from 2012 here: Krista and Daniel Wedding. Krista and Daniel hit the jackpot after a chance meeting in a parking lot on their way to interview for the same job, they both were hired and they fell in love. But their lucky streak isn’t the only reason their seaside Newport Wedding featured a touch of Vegas flair.  Months later Krista transferred to Maryland for work and their romance went long distance while Dan relocated to Las Vegas for his job.  They wanted to “take it back to where it all started” and have their wedding in Rhode Island which is also a perfect spot for out-of-town guests to have a fun getaway.  With spectacular views, the Hyatt Regency Newport was the ultimate setting for the weekend celebration, which included a welcome reception on the hotel’s Windward Deck and Sunday brunch in the outdoor Pavilion. The Ceremony was held at a nearby St. Anthony’s Church, where a traveling carnival across the street provided an unexpected photo-op for the wedding party, who posed by the rides and games for us.  For the reception Vegas touches kept up the fun: card boxes designed to look like dice and decks of “Lucky in Love” playing cards and the tables named after Vegas Hotels just to name a few of their Vegas Flair.

With three long-distance moves-Krista eventually packed up and moved to Las Vegas as well.  I met up with Krista and Daniel in Las Vegas to photograph their steaming Las Vegas Engagements session: for a look back see their blog post: Krista and Daniel Engagement Session.  I remember it like it was yesterday as we hopped from hotel to hotel playing around and photographing at every little nook and cranny we could find.  The kicker is that they both ended up beating the odds and got featured in Southern New England Weddings Magazine for their wedding feature and also got their wedding images featured in the Newport Hyatt Brochure.

As luck would have it their romance journey came full circle when both Krista and Daniel moved back to their roots to Rhode Island (a.k.a “Little Rhody”) after having their beautiful little boy Daniel Jr.   We got a call from Krista this past December when she wanted to take part in our Santa Visit at The Sara Zarrella Photography Portrait Studio.  How our eyes lit up when we got to meet the new addition to their family.  It’s really amazing when we sit back and write this blog post how we see as the years passed how much trust and honor our loyal clients give to us.

Kayti & Winston – Providence Biltmore

These two are so totally in love and adorable! Kayti and Winston are high school sweethearts, and I had the pleasure of photographing their engagement session and getting to know their story.

The Big Day: March 26 – Kayti and Winston’s 9th anniversary!

The Venue: The Biltmore Hotel in Providence – right across the street from where they had their first date – the Providence Place Mall!

Kayti and Winston were married at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, and then we walked to the Biltmore and took pictures on the way.

It was a very, very cold March day. Kayti and Winston were so happy that their friends and family were such good sports about the cold-air photo shoot, that they made a stop over at Trinity Brew House for a round of beers on the way to the Biltmore! It’s so nice to see the tight bond that this group has formed over the years.

The reception was a blast, and the couple danced the night away with their guests while Mike Picard Videography took it all in!

Kayti and Winston are such a fun couple, and I really enjoyed spending time with them.  I’m sad the wedding is over, but I hope one day that we will get together again – maybe for maternity and newborn sessions!

Erin’s Growing Family

Look at this family grow!!  Erin was so glad that she came in and did her maternity session with us! So naturally she brought Adam in for his first photos and he melted our hearts off the bat.  And now to watch him grow to be a great big brother to his twin sisters, Hannah and Hailey, is truly beautiful.  And from the looks of things, Adam will have his hands full with his sisters:)

Erin is a big fan of our Accordion Books!

Proud Mom

There is a lot of love between these sisters, and that makes Bree one proud mother.  We have had the honor of photographing Bree’s growing family over the past three years.  As Bree welcomes her third baby girl we are there to capture it all with our Chapter One Program.

Brigitte & Joshua – Blithewold Mansion

I met Bridgitte and Joshua before their big day, when I captured their engagement photos and put together their guest book. The wedding day was August 20, 2011 and they celebrated their union at Blithewold Mansion in Bristol, Rhode Island on a beautiful day with a gorgeous sunset!

These two are so creative!  Joshua is a pilot, and their Save The Date had an actual logo that reflected their love of planes!  Bridgitte loves pink, so everything at this fun event was her favorite hue – from the shoes to the dresses to the inside of the cake! The stunning flowers on the big day were provided by Toni Chandler Florals.

Their creativity doesn’t stop there!  Joshua is a huge Red Sox fan, so he had a Red Sox shirt made for Bridgitte with her new last name on the back, and he put his on too.  So cute!  There were all sorts of little touches that reflected their personalities – like the beer mugs and flip flops with daisies they gave out to guests.  I was sure to grab a pair of size 6 in orange!;-)
